Frequent travelers would know how difficult it is to find a perfect haven for your memorable stay. Rapid surge in the number of options does nothing to help, it adds to the confusion further. My search usually begins even before the trip is finalized: just to get the hang of it.
We are budget travelers so budget also plays an important role. I usually like to stay at resorts but the things is they are mostly expensive. Only rarely comes a chance where our budget meets the choice and ‘Bamboo Dale resort, Byson valley, Munnar’ is one of those occurrences.
Most resorts advertise that they are situated ‘amidst the nature’; However, Bamboo Dale resort is, indeed, located amidst the nature. So, inadvertently, it is far from the town Munnar.
I read that it is around 20 kms from Munnar, I was like Ok. Then when we had to travel (we rode for about 180 kms on bike by then) it felt tiresome on ghat roads. Yet, when we saw the place, it was an instant love.
It has a valley on one side, their own private waterfall (yeah) and organic garden.
Rooms had this amazing glass walls. When I woke up, I thought I was dreaming.
The private swings in the balcony is a special attraction. Food was nice and affordable. (we had dinners and evening snacks for two days and final bill was only around 850/-). But I felt that the breakfast should have had more options. Staff was super friendly. They helped us in every possible way.
This place also offers opportunities for camping and bonfire. They also willingly help you to arrange local tours.
I called it Budget because for days, for two people with breakfasts included, it was only 5800 rs (Through Makemytrip). Trust me, it was a lot cheaper than many resorts which offered similar facilities. However, these are subjective to changes with many reasons like seasons and availability.
Overall rating. 4.5/5
